Danza Urbana
Till 30 September 2010
Cities are, today, the places where are concentrated the majority of the world population, a phenomenon that in recent decades has experienced a strong acceleration, changing lifestyles, cultures and identities of millions of people. Public spaces are, therefore, places critical to build a sense of community and civil cohabitation, resume the threads of lost identity.
The fourteenth edition of the Urban Dance moves from these simple considerations to propose a program that is not just a calendar of events, but a vision of the city.
The work in public spaces as places of social and cultural life, the democratization of dance (erroneously considered an elitist art), the promotion of new languages, the contemporary artistic production - through the works of emerging choreographers on the international scene - and its focus on the realities of our territory, are the lines that intertwine to compose the posters of the festival.
Danza Urbana however, is not only the events and performances on offer, but a set of ideals, goals, expectations that gather many identity in the same place: a small community of people working behind the scenes, barely visible, to affirm a different idea of society, a vision shared day by day, which has developed expertise and skills in the relationship between contemporary arts and the city.
