Il Pizzo Historical House - Sorrento and Amalfi Coast

In the middle of the famous coast of Sorrento, in front of the majestic Bay of Naples, where Vesuvius put his arms as a father around this piece of land well known since the ancient Greeks and Romans. Where the mysterious sirens came from there is a still an untouched piece of coast that catches your eyes for the intensive and extended green.  The historic estate IL PIZZO is the extraordinary example of an admixture between an citrus garden and a Villa, it preserves all the characteristics that the founder Mariano Arlotta in the middle of the 17century want to confer envolved in the romantic principle of that age.
Tenuta Il Pizzo is built on an already existing monastic settlement, and in its vast expanse of 16 hectares sees alternating crops of citrus and olive trees, natural environments and terraces, villas and farmhouses, tall trees ornamental, that a dense network of roads connects and crosses. Advancing toward the sea in the path of the driveway, it skirts the eighteenth-century villa, formerly the convent building and through the dense citrus trees you reach the coastline formed by the first olive trees and then the Mediterranean Macchia. This band of dense holms, oaks, pine trees, carob trees and arbutus, created according to the local agricultural traditions as a defence to the cold north winds, has gradually been enriched by vegetation of oleanders, agaves and hedges of myrtle in a narrow path that runs along the entire waterfront for an extension of a kilometer. This area crown the cliff of tufa, a feature unique in the world of the landscape of the Sorrento Peninsula. On it are opened wide terraces and valuable real lookout windows of wonders, whose last known Il Pizzo extends over a rocky outcropping to the sea, from which it is named the entire property, which perched on the end in the bay of Pecoriello.
