Milan

Town always considered in the vanguard, wide-ranging metropolis: very active centre of financial and industrial interests of most important private Italian companies and banks. During the windy days, its central geographic position, in the hearth of Po valley, and the top of Alps with the rest of Europe in the background, can be noticed with evidence.
The lyric theatre, Teatro alla Scala, which represents this town worldwide, does not complete its cultural universe: because of the huge urban hinterland and the prevalent feature assigned to the business, it is not considered city of art, as Rome or Venice, although rich in quantity and quality of masterpieces.
The main cathedral, Duomo is the sign of the only last six centuries of a history which started 2400 years ago; unfortunately next to nothing is remained with regards to the traces, the Spanish bastions and walls, used in the past to built the first ring road of the town are almost disappeared.
In spite of above, the town has gathered a large and prestigious heritage of art, very well preserved and enhanced, with rich museums and art galleries. Milan, as above mentioned, is a forward-looking town; its people are orientated the new and modern arts and styles, update the business needs, draw women and men from all the countries who cannot give up the fashion shows, the international trade fairs and the various sport and cultural events. In view of this, the town is renovating its urban and architectonic aspect with many programs, currently in advanced progress, which aim on hand to retrain whole boroughs, on the other hand to project its imagine in Europe and in the World.
But Milan, above all, offers amusement every day from the morning time to the night: with a cappuccino to start, then walking tour throughout the shopping area Quadrilatero della Moda, overthere nearby some art galleries display latest creations belonging to young or famous artists; but the lunch time is arrived soon, so many bars suggest their culinary delights, from the trendy Bar Bianco in Parco Sempione to the nice bistro’s in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, while the coffee can be sipped, in case of favourable weather, in the public gardens. There is now the afternoon to be spent of course with a walking amongst the bookshops of the city centre; they are of various nature: some are old and specialized in old and even rare volumes, others are modern and have designer furnishings as well as snacks area. The Milanese style is expressed in the time of “happy hour”, it’s must for local people, the choices are wide to satisfy every single taste and way of life. When daytime ends, it’s turn for the night and the various offered entertainments: for those who love the stages, there’s the Zelig for the stand-up comedy or the already mentioned Teatro alla Scala for those lyric-oriented.
